The Grateful Garment Project was pleased to provided four waiting room chairs for the Watsonville SART facility as a part of their reopening this week. This facility is quite small and yet serves a wide demographic area of the southern part of Santa Cruz County. It delights us to know that their waiting room will be a bit more comfortable thanks to the supporters of The Grateful Garment Project.

We are delighted to announce that the San Jose Police Officers Association has made a generous contribution to The Grateful Garment Project’s efforts in Santa Clara County. The San Jose Police Officers Association donation will go far in making a difference for victims of sexual assault in Santa Clara County. We, at The Grateful Garment Project, wish to express our gratitude to President George Beattie and the entire San Jose Police Officers Association.
The Grateful Garment Project took on the project of spiffing up the Oakland Highlands Hospital SART facility. The SART facility staff requested that we assist them in task of re-beautifying the SART counseling rooms. We look forward to providing a more aesthetically pleasing and user friendly environment.

We are proud to announce that various artists have agreed to create custom art for Santa Cruz County SART facility at Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. The artists will take into serious consideration the nature of the environment they are creating.
West Metro Kiwanis of San Jose invited The Grateful Garment Project’s Executive Director to their meeting. After addressing the group, Lisa Blanchard was presented with a generous donation. The Grateful Garment Project is most grateful for the support and for further introductions to additional resources provided by
the members of the West Metro Kiwanis of San Jose.

The Grateful Garment Project has now expanded into Alameda County. We are working with the SART facility at the Oakland Highland Hospital, one of the state’s principal SART facilities. The project at the Highland SART facility will be multi phased and leveled. Stay tuned for more information.
West Hills Community started a collection drive for the benefit of The Grateful Garment Project. We want to let Christian Zorio and all of his flock, at the Evergreen Campus, know how much we appreciate all their support.
The Grateful Garment Project is excited to announce their expansion into Santa Cruz County. Santa Cruz County has two SART facilities and works with Women’s Crisis Support, who provide advocates to assist victims to navigate the processes in front of them. The Grateful Garment Project is glad for the opportunity to assist these facilities which service the population of Santa Cruz County.
Queen of Apostles begins a month-long drive to assist The Grateful Garment Project in its mission to support SART facilities and to provide victims of sexual assault with new clothing to wear home from their SART exams. The Grateful Garment Project is most grateful for the efforts of the good people of this church.

Stephanie Heuer, a Career and College Tech at Gunderson High School in San Jose, California, rallied students to start a collecting drive for toiletries and granola bars. What a great example of how students can and do make a great difference in our community. Three roars for all the Grizzlies at Gunderson High School!
The Grateful Garment Project’s Founder and Executive Director, Lisa Blanchard, was invited to be a Guest Lecturer at Stanford University. Lisa lectured on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence for students and faculty. Thank you, Stanford University, for the opportunity for Lisa to share such valuable information and the mission of The Grateful Garment Project.
The Center for Spiritual Living in conjunction with The Grateful Garment Project starts a month-long drive for clothes, snack and toiletries at the center’s San Jose facility. The center has a large membership and this drive should prove fruitful in assisting The Grateful Garment Project’s efforts to provide items for victims of sexual assault.
